
t edward bak is the artist and cartoonist behind the new book,
"Service Industry", a graphic memoir chronicling one night in the
inner life of a dishwasher distracted by his preoccupations with
meaning and loss. "Service Industry" was an Ignatz nominee for Best
Debut at SPX in October 2007.
In the spring of 2007, t edward bak was awarded the Fellowship at the
Center for the Cartoon Studies in White River Junction, where he works
as a graphic designer for Chelsea Green Publishing. Next year, his
comics will be featured in the Drawn & Quarterly Showcase (March 2008)
and "Orchid 2". He is currently writing and drawing his first
full-length graphic novel, "Blues for Eurydice", working on a new
story for Fantagraphics' Mome and a series of new prints and drawings.
